Hi kids! June is here again. That means END OF THE SCHOOL YEAR too. This story is full of colours, fress fruit, and fun, which reminds me a lot of summertime. Apart from that it's a lovely story that I know my kids (and me, actually...) always enjoy a lot! So, here it goes! LEARNING ABOUT FRUIT IN A DELICIOUS WAY :)

Today, in the English classroom, third graders have been experiencing with fruit. The fruit taste, smell, colour and texture. For that, every kid brought a piece of fruit (THANK YOU AGAIN, FAMILIES) that we washed or peeled, and cut into pieces to get it ready. Then we played to guess different flavours and smells with our eyes covered. And then, we prepared a delicious fruit skewer that we ate, they looked delicious! It was lots of fun ;)

 

Hoy en la clase de inglés, los niñ@s de 3º han estado experimentando con la fruta, su sabor, su olor, su textura, sus colores, ... Para esto, cada niñ@ trajo una pieza de fruta (UNA VEZ MÁS, MUCHAS GRACIAS A LAS FAMILIAS POR SU COLABORACIÓN) que lavamos o pelamos, cortamos y preparamos. Luego jugamos con los ojos tapados a adivinar diferentes frutas por su olor y sabor . Y al final preparamos unas deliciosas brochetas de fruta y nos las comimos. ¡Estaban deliciosas! ¡Fue muuuy divertido! ;)

AN EASY RECIPE: FRUIT SKEWERS

At one of my schools, we are working on food in the English class. We´ve learnt that it´s very important to eat healthy, and fruit is esencial when talking about a healthy and balanced alimentation. So, we prepared a healthy, delicious and very colourful recipe: FRUIT SKEWERS! Here you are the steps to follow and some of our brochettes, I hope you like them as much as we did, we were quite proud of them...! Thank you very much for the parents cooperation.

En uno de mis coles (CEIP Vicente Risco) los niños y niñas de 2º estamos practicando el vocabulario de la comida en la clase de inglés. Hemos aprendido que es muy importante comer sano, y para esto, la fruta es imprescindible; así que preparamos una receta sana, deliciosa y además muy colorida: ¡Brochetas de frutas! .Aquí tenéis los pasos a seguir y algunas de las nuestras, ¡espero que os gusten tanto como a nosotros!. Muchas gracias a los papás de 2º por su colaboración.

As promised, here you are the video of one of our favourite stories The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Some of my second graders are working on food (in one of my schools), so this is a perfect story. But it is also great for everybody else, pay attention to the names of the days of the week and to what happens to caterpillars when they grow up. Very interesting! Enjoy!

Como os prometí, aquí tenéis una de nuestras historias favoritas, la de "La oruga muy hambrienta". Como algunos de mis alumnos de segundo (en uno de mis coles) están trabajando en la comida, este es el cuento ideal. En realidad es genial para todo el mundo, ya que nos enseña muuuchas cosas. Prestad también atención al nombre de los días de la semana y a qué les pasa a las orugas cuando crecen. ¡Muy interesante! ¡A disfrutarla!
