First graders and I went to London this school year, not for real, but almost... We learned some things about this city through stories, decorated our classroom and finally made these books to bring home and read them as many times as we want.
You can listen to us telling the story all together on the videos below.

In first grade, we've been learning and talking about Valentine's Days in English speaking countries. In UK and US, valentine's day is to celebrate all types of love: love to your family, to your friends, ...
Our language assistant told us the story of Hedgehug:
We made some cards for our families:
And we also learned the song "Skidamarink", that we dedicate to our beloved families.
It's Christmas time, so in our English lessons we've been reading and working on some Christmas stories. Listen and read them again and play with the activities.
For Halloween, 1st graders used their counting skills to design a colourful monster. We used the dice to play ROLL THE MONSTER. Below are some photos if you'd like to see.
We'd like to share our welcome to our school language assistant.
He'll be working with 1st, 2nd and 6th grade students, but at his arrival we were very lucky he came to kindergarten to say hi and play the violin for us.
Below are some photos and a video if you'd like to see.
In 1st grade we're learning the days of the week n Engliss. We're using this song and some interactive activities that you can also use at home as revision.
During this last term, 1st graders have been working in a little project in the English lessons. With the help of their families, each of them designed a crazy animal made up by mixing two different animals.
With the help of our "auxiliar de conversa", we worked in small groups to write a little description of our animal body parts and colours and then prepares a short presentation to introduce our animal to the rest of the class. We also recorded our presentations and put together a video using the Chroma key effect.
We haven't finished all the presentations yet, but on the interactive image below are some of the ones that are ready if you'd like to see.
We also want to use this post to thank Michelle for helping us with our English. THANK YOU and HAVE A SAFE TRIP BACK HOME! Below's a little video of some moments with her in 1st grade.
Back in November, 1st graders worked on Thanksgiving. As part of this unit, they disguised some turkeys. Now, we've put them all in a book and we've recorded a little video introducing them. You can watch them below.
