OUR BANKSY-INPIRED PLAYGROUND MURAL

A couple of weeks ago we heard on the news that the British street artist, Banksy, had made a playground mural at a school in Bristol. Read the news HERE.
As part of our Arts and Emotions project, we had already planned to paint our playground walls, and so we did. One of the murals was done by 6th graders, our graffiti experts, and inspired by one of Banksy's creations.
You can see the process on our Art blog or clicking on the image below.

K-6 STORYTELLING: BROWN BEAR, BROWN BEAR, WHAT DO YOU SEE?

Children in K-6 (6º Ed. Infantil) have been working on the story "Brown bear, brown bear, what do you see?" They've loved it so much that they know it by heart! We've recorded it and you can listen to us telling the story on the video below.
We hope you like it!

We made our own minibooks and added the QR code so we can listen to the story as many times as we want at home.

We put them into our "Tommy tiger" folder and they¡re coming home with us!

Well done, children!

MUSEUMS EXPLORERS

Before Alyssa left, for Museums Day (18th May), sixth graders started a little investigation project about different world museums.
In groups, they got assigned a museum and they had to look for information on the Internet to fill in an information sheet about their museum.

After that, they had to write a guideline for their presentation and a little storyboard.

Then, they practised until being ready and recorded themselves using the green background. Once they recorded each other, they worked on their videos, using the chroma effect and a video editor.

Below are their videos if you'd like to see.

We visited  the MET. ..

We visited the Guggenheim...

At the Walker Art Museum...

Discovering the Louvre...

We also visited the Shakespeare museum.

And... we discovered the Tate Museum of Art too.

Well done!

5th GRADERS PRESENT THEIR LEAFLETS

Fifth graders made some brochures to describe places they'd like to visit and want to recommend to you. After making them, they had to present them to persuade everybody else to go to the place they described. Where do you want to go?

And below, are the videos of the presentations if you'd like to see.

This is Candyland!
