PORTOFARO IN NUMBERS- a book about Portofaro School

As part of our eTwinning project, we created a book describing our school. We recorded it and you can watch the video below or listen to it while you read it.

THE VERY HUNGRY DINOSAUR

Girls and boys in Kinder-6 invented a story about a very hungry dinosaur with their main teacher. We translated into English and 4th graders ilustrated it in our Art sessions. Below you can watch the video of the the story in Galician. English version in the making.

DINOSAUR, DINOSAUR, WHAT DO YOU SEE?

Girls and boys in K-6 (6ºEI) did a project about dinosaurs with their main teacher. They learned so much! In English we used the topic to work on colours, parts of the body...  and created a book inspired by Eric Carle's book "Brown bear, brown bear, what do you see?".

PIPPI LONGSTOCKING COSTUMES

This year Pippi Longstocking was our "inspiration", since the school project was about games and the importance of play.We did different activities using Pippi. One of them was designing a Halloween costume for her and writing and recording a presentation. Some of the presentations are on the video below.

A SUPER HEROINES GALAXY

On 8th March we celebrate International Women's Day. 

As conmemoration year 5 students created some super heroines, which made us reflect on how we know the name of many male super heroes and barely none fiction girl/woman heroines. 

   

Since year 5 students have been working on describing people's personality and comparing people, we used our super heroines to practise descriptions and the comparative form of the adjective.

We shared our Super Heroine creations on a Padlet we called "The Super Heroines Galaxy":

MEG AND MOG

Back in October, kids in year 4 discovered the story "Meg and Mog". In one of the groups (4A) we decided to prepare a theatre play based on this book. And so we did! Because of COVID restrictions we decided to record it instead of acting in front of others.

Now that Halloween is coming, we can review this fun story about a green monster at the same time we review the names of the parts of the face
