"FIRST THANKSGIVING" -WORKING ON SEQUENCING A STORY

After watching a presentation about the story of the first Thanksgiving, the students had to sequence it. Second graders sequenced it using a very simple flow map ith six parts and just illustrating the different parts.

Older kids, worked on more details of the story, so they sequenced the story using some of the printables you can find HERE.//Los mayores trabajaron en más detalles de la historia, por lo que para secuenciarla utilizaron los imprimibles que podéis encontrar AQUÍ.

And also, here you atre one more Thanksgiving video, this time, a different version of the story ;)

TEACHERS TUESDAY X-THANKSGIVING RESOURCES

Since this year we have an American conversation assistant, and related to our school project "Around the world on top of a plate", we are working on Thanksgiving, learning about its origin, the tradition itself and the food related to it.

For this, i've found tons of resources online that I've pinned on Pinterest, you can see them on the following board:

Inspired by some of the activities seen here, and related to my kids needs and knowledge, I've also prepared some printables that you can download below if you'd like to.

A set of cards to go with the story:

A printable book inspired by this one:

And a few activities to work on sequencing the story and counting.

And one more video aboutthe Thanksgiving tradition:

HALLOWEEN 2014

Last October 30th we had a little Halloween celebration at school. It was a very cool morning full of fun activities that you can check at our school library blog by clicking HERE. Apart from these activities, in our English lessons we prepared a story to tell the whole school and also a song. Both activities were also  related to our school project for this year "Around the world on top of a plate", they both included food vocabulary. Here you are the videos of both activities (sorry for the bad sound and video quality) if you'd like to see.
